Description of Corporate Social Responsibility Model
There are five levels of Corporate Social Responsibility:
- Compliance
- Beyond Compliance
- Business Case
- Business of choice
- Leader in Diversity
An organisation can rise through these levels by creating a statement of intent and then improving its Organisational Activities:
- Work environment
- Recruitment and selection
- Rewards and recognition
- Training and development
- Communication
- Contracting goods and services
- Customer focus
- Product / service delivery
This results in changes in business practice and Organisational Processes, namely:
- Commitment
- Policy
- Strategy / planning
- Implementation
- Measurement
- Evaluation and feedback
By making these changes to activities, practices and processes, and by auditing them, an organisation can see which level it has reached and create new statements of intent to begin the improvement loop once again.
